Online (Infrastructure) games
Logging in:
From the WipEout® Pulse main menu, go to Multiplayer & Sharing, then Online (Infrastructure). You will be prompted to enter your PLAYSTATION®Network account details. Once accepted, follow the login process, choosing your nearest location and picking a channel to join. You will then be taken to the online main menu.
Creating a game:
Choose Create Game from the online main menu. On the next screen you can name your game, but it will default to your account username. You can also set a password if you want. On the next screen, choose your game type and other settings, then choose your track and ship. You will then be taken to the game lobby where other players will appear after they join.
From the lobby You can edit the game settings, change your ship and view the ship skins for other players. When other players change their ships a spanner icon will appear next to their name. When you are ready you can start the game, but any players who are changing their ships will not be able to take part.
Joining a game:
Choose Join Game from the online main menu. You will be presented with a list of games to choose from. If there are a lot of games, press Square to open the filter menu and narrow your search down. When you pick a game to join, you will be prompted to choose your ship before you enter the lobby.
From the lobby you can change your ship and browse the ship skins of the other players. When the host starts the game there will be short countdown. If you are choosing your ship when the countdown runs out you will not be able to take part in the race.
Ad Hoc games:
From the WipEout® Pulse main menu, go to Multiplayer & Sharing, then choose Ad Hoc & Sharing. You can create and join Ad Hoc games in much the same way as for Online (Infrastructure) above.
Online Account menu:
From the WipEout® Pulse main menu, go to Multiplayer & Sharing, then choose Online Account.
The auto-login option is useful if you play Online (Infrastructure) games a lot. When you switch the option on it will remember which options you picked for parts of the login process, and automatically pick them the next time you go online.
You will still need to manually confirm some choices. If you want the full range login options available, you can turn this feature off again.
The ship skins option lets you choose whether to enable or disable the viewing of custom ship skins from other players.
